The Art of Time Ensemble played at Base31’s Drill Hall in a concert collaboration with BIGLAKE last week. The Ensemble reset the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band to chamber music with vocals by Steven Page, Chris Murphy, Andy Maize and Jeremy Fisher in a splendid remix.
It was as though a bomb had gone off. In an extraordinary statement, Mayor Ferguson advised the public last week that the County had entered into a legally binding agreement with Picton Terminals, precluding any public consultation or comment, even a normal vote to approve the deal. The terms of the settlement still have not been disclosed, and won’t be until just before they are to be approved — in a “pro forma” ratification vote.

County FM’s eight-part documentary series, “Voices from the Shadows — Homeless in a Rural Community,” won Best Documentary at the National Community Radio Association annual conference.
A visual cornucopia, and yes, totally corny. But worth it for the Flower Power.
