Fall Countylicious Special Issue
Full of all things Countylicious, our special issue brings Farm to Table into focus. We feature conversations with the gardeners, farmers, and chefs who work together to bring the harvest in to dine — all year round. Chefs at Bocado, Gather, Theia, and Flame and Smith told us how Vicki Emlaw, Fiddlehead Farms, Hagermans and Laundry’s, and a host of other local growers, herders, fishers and farmers collaborate with them to create the County’s signature cuisine. Watch for our interviews and features through the month of Countylicious, which runs October 24 to November 17.

Picton Terminals started blasting the rock face on Picton Bay Tuesday morning. According to their website, blasting is expected to continue all week. They say they are preparing the ground for the building of P & H’s grain silos, but they do not have a permit — not from the County, not from Quinte Conservation, and not from the Ministry of Natural Resources. The Gazette is following the story. Watch our website for updates.

The Gazette’s Newspapers on Film series kicks off with a screening of Steven Spielberg’s The Post, Monday 21 October at the Pilot’s Lounge at Base31. The film is followed by a discussion of Katharine Graham’s Personal History, the Post publisher’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir, on October 30.
