Yesterday the Toronto Star and the Gazette reported that a private suit, brought by four County residents, convinced a Justice of the Peace to proceed with charges against the owners of Picton Terminals for illegal excavations.
County planners and the zoning by-law restrict new residential and commercial development in the County to the villages and towns along the Highway 33 corridor that connects Picton, Bloomfield, Wellington, and Consecon.
That high density urban development is putting pressure on the Millennium Trail.
The County is joining the new Bay of Quinte Film Office in an effort to restore the region to its former glory as a center for film production.
