Gena Branscombe: From Picton to the World is a special homecoming concert celebrating the life and legacy of Picton-born composer, conductor, and arts leader Gena Branscombe (1881–1977). Gena Branscombe went on to build an international career at a time when women’s musical voices were often overlooked. Saturday 15 August at 4pm. Picton United Church. Tickets PWYC.

Gena Branscombe Heritage Walk. Step back into the Picton of the late nineteenth century on this guided heritage walk exploring the places that shaped composer Gena Branscombe (1881–1977) in her early years. Led by local historian Liz Driver of the PEC Heritage Conservancy, this 60-minute walk traces the streets, buildings, and landscapes that formed the backdrop of Branscombe’s childhood and first musical experiences. Saturday 15 August at 11am.

PEC Jazz Festival continues all weekend!

Friday night 14 August, the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio is at The Regent.

Saturday night sees the return of festival favourite Emilie-Claire Barlow. The recipient of a Félix and two JUNO Awards, Emilie-Claire Barlow has garnered over 500 million streams and performed on stages around the world.

Sunday evening features singer Irene Torres, August 16, at Waring Hall with an evening of Latin jazz. She will be joined by Jazz Festival-favourite Eric St-Laurent and her band. - TICKETS ADDED
